Hello Nursing Friend!

My name is Tracey Taylor and I am a doctorally (DNP 2010) prepared Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (MSN 2005). I received both my Master's of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. I earned my undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University in 1997.

For the past almost 20 years, I have worked in both the clinical and academic settings and am currently an Associate Professor of Nursing.

As an ACNP, I have worked in surgical services, inpatient medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine.

In the academic setting, I enjoy teaching students of all levels and have held roles as an Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs, Associate Dean of Graduate Clinical Programs, and Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

It was during these last several years that I noticed a pattern. Every semester, students and junior teaching faculty had the same questions. I created The Academic Nurse to serve those students and teaching faculty by answering those questions and addressing topics related to navigating college.
